With a dedicated onsite crew, NCF is a leading provider of construction, planning, and emergency response services at Humboldt Bay Power Plant (HBPP).
Our duties at HBPP include Radwaste packaging and shipping, environmental support, erosion control, hazardous waste site operations, strategic planning, safety reconciliation, emergent work, equipment support and engineering. Our employees keep up to date with the training and certification needed to perform on demand, quickly and safely, every task as required.
These are a few of the projects that we have completed:
HBPP Unit 3 RCA Access Control. Set up new building and relocate facilities and equipment.
HBPP Unit 3 Refuel Building Decon Facility. Structure prefabricated in our shop and erected in place inside the RFB. Tight quarters, other projects ongoing in the area, maintain envelope to sustain negative relative air pressure for containment due to the severe Alpha contamination in this area, surfaces designed to accommodate decontamination.
HBPP Environmental Lab Count Room. Constructed on-site to support the decommissioning project at the Humboldt Bay Power Plant, both fossil and nuclear.
HBPP Unit 3 Reactor Pressure Vessel Containment Facility (RCF.) Structure prefabricated in our shop and erected in place inside the very tight quarters, complex fabrication and erection process because of limited space for footprint, seismic loading, dynamic loading, and envelope requirements. Numerous other projects ongoing in the immediate area requiring cooperation in the competition for resources and space. Maintain envelope to sustain negative relative air pressure for containment due to the severe Alpha contamination in this area.
Generally within the U.S., California is recognized as having the most rigorous regulatory standards of any state. This is particularly true for the highly regulated industries in which NCF operates. In our experience, public utilities offer the maximum regulatory oversight from both state and federal agencies, particularly the California Public Utilities Commission and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. These projects enable our customers to derive the full value added benefit of NCF’s commitment to safety, our unwavering attention to quality, and our commercial competitiveness.
